Unique Learning Method

View a 3 min. video about what our whole method can do for your group.

The true test of any biblical disciple or leader formation activity is not how much we know, but how much we become like Christ. Our goal is not to pass a written test, but to become a living hope and help for all God brings into our lives.

We are all about real change for real people. This learning method has proven highly effective to foster real change, tangible spiritual growth in real people. We call the learning experience we have designed unique, not because here alone will you find these elements. But to our knowledge, we are the only ones to put these three elements together into a flexible, user-friendly whole to get the most out of several different learning mediums. Others use each of these three, but Ascending Leaders is unique in the flexibility and thoroughness with which we use the three elements.

The unique and effective learning method used by Ascending Leaders involves three basic component

  1. Reflective Time Alone with God: We encourage you to use your already established quiet time, or time with the Lord to prepare for your small group. Use this time to investigate, study the principles and implications of biblical truth contained in the individual reading. Spend time reflecting and working through the exercises.(Personal Preparation)
  2. Small-Group Discussion: In the small-group (3-12 people) time you share your thoughts, questions, experiences and assertions when your small group comes together. We learn best when we learn together.(Peer Learning)
  3. "Triads" for Application, Encouragement and Prayer: An old Chinese proverb says, "Tell me, I forget. Show me, I remember. Involve me, I understand." Involve me, or application takes place in triads—a group of three or four small-group participants—meeting regularly to mentor each other in the daily application of biblical truth in one anothers' lives (Peer Mentoring). Read more about the impact of triads.

These three components are not isolated activities but rather a part of an integrated learning process that allows the Holy Spirit to use peer interactions (encouragement, insights, accountability…) to shape the life-transformation process for each individual participant.
